   Korean definition: 사람이나 동물이 등이나 옆구리가 어떤 곳에 닿도록 몸을 가로로 놓다.

   • 나는 풀밭에 누워 맑은 하늘을 바라보았다.

     I lay on the grass and looked up at the clear sky.

   • 강아지 한 마리가 한가롭게 길가에 누워 있다.

     A puppy is lying leisurely by the roadside.

   be confined to bed; be ill in bed

   To not be able to get up because one is sick.

   Korean definition: 병을 앓아 자리에서 일어나지 못하게 되다.

   • 지수는 독감으로 사흘 동안 누워 있었다.

     Jisu was ill in bed with the flu for three days.

   • 한 연구원은 과중한 업무 때문에 과로로 자리에 눕고 말았다.

     One researcher ended up confined to bed from overwork due to an excessive workload.
