   slice; cut

   To cut something into several pieces by pressing a knife, saw, etc., downwards and moving the blade forwards and backwards.

   Korean definition: 칼이나 톱 등을 대고 아래로 누르며 날을 앞뒤로 움직여서 무엇을 자르거나 여러 토막이 나게 하다.

   • 아버지는 창고에서 톱으로 통나무를 썰고 있었다.

     Father was sawing a log in the shed.

   • 아주머니는 큰 떡을 몇 조각으로 크게 썰더니 주변 사람들에게 나누어 주었다.

     The woman cut the big rice cake into several large pieces and shared them with the people around her.
