     I went to the hospital with a stomachache and was told to eat less salty food.

   A state in which a person's words or action is nonsensical, not fitting for his/her situation.

   Korean definition: 말이나 행동이 상황에 어울리지 않고 다소 엉뚱하다.

   • 친구는 괜히 싱거운 말을 하면서 내 긴장을 풀어 주었다.

     My friend relieved my tension by saying silly things for no reason.

   • 민준이는 별일도 아닌 것에 싱겁게 잘 웃었다.

     Minjun often laughed frivolously at things that were nothing special.

   A state in which a certain action, remark, article, etc. is flat and tedious without being able to arouse interest.

   Korean definition: 어떤 행동이나 말, 글 등이 흥미를 끌지 못하고 흐지부지하다.

   • 친구의 싱거운 대답에 나는 맥이 빠졌다.

     My friend's flat answer deflated me.

   • 나의 첫사랑은 싱겁게 끝나 버리고 말았다.

     My first love ended flatly.
