   A Korean noodle made by flattening the dough as thin as possible and cutting it into long strips with a knife; or a soup made by boiling them with other ingredients in a broth.

   Korean definition: 밀가루 반죽을 얇게 밀고 칼로 가늘게 썰어서 만든 국수. 또는 그것을 넣어 끓인 음식.

   • 할머니께서는 손수 면을 만들어 칼국수를 끓여 주셨다.

     Grandmother made the noodles by hand and cooked kalguksu for me.

   • 비가 오는 날이면 엄마가 바지락, 파, 감자를 듬뿍 넣고 끓여 주시던 맛있는 칼국수 생각이 난다.

     Whenever it rains, I think of the delicious kalguksu Mom used to make with lots of clams, green onions and potatoes.
