   Korean definition: 아버지의 어머니, 또는 어머니의 어머니를 이르거나 부르는 말.

   • 할머니 생신을 맞아 자식들과 손자, 손녀들이 모두 모였다.

     For Grandma's birthday, her children and grandchildren all gathered.

   • 시골집 앞에는 등이 굽고 얼굴에 주름이 깊게 팬 할머니가 마중을 나와 계셨다.

     In front of the country house, Grandma, her back bent and her face deeply wrinkled, had come out to greet us.

   (affectionate) A word used to refer to or address an old woman.

   Korean definition: (친근하게 이르는 말로) 늙은 여자를 이르거나 부르는 말.

   • 양로원의 할머니들은 내가 손자 같다며 먹을 것을 많이 챙겨 주셨다.

     The old ladies at the nursing home said I was like a grandson to them and gave me lots of food.

   • 얼굴에 새겨진 주름살을 보니 그 할머니는 아무래도 칠십 가까이 된 것 같았다.

     Judging from the wrinkles on her face, that old lady seemed to be nearly seventy.
