   To learn something by finding out what one did not know before.

   Korean definition: 모르던 것을 찾아서 알게 되다.

   • 나는 그 친구가 시험을 통과하지 못한 이유를 알아낼 수 없었다.

     I couldn't find out why my friend failed the exam.

   • 나는 저번에 나를 도와준 사람의 이름을 알아내기 위하여 전국을 돌아다녔다.

     I traveled all over the country to find out the name of the person who had helped me before.
