   Korean definition: 앞의 내용이 뒤의 내용의 원인이나 근거, 조건 등이 될 때 쓰는 말.

   • 강자들은 자신의 돈이나 권력을 이용하여 언론에 쉽게 접근할 수 있고, 따라서 자신들에게 유리한 정보를 언론이 싣도록 유도할 수 있다.

     The powerful can easily access the media using their money or power, and therefore can lead the media to publish information favorable to them.

   • 기업들이 환경을 파괴하는 데에는 경제적인 이유가 있다. 따라서 기업이 환경을 파괴하지 않고 이익을 낼 수 있는 제도의 마련이 필요하다.

     There are economic reasons why companies destroy the environment. Therefore, a system is needed that lets companies make profits without destroying the environment.
