   For something to go near something and attach itself to it.

   Korean definition: 어떤 것이 다른 어떤 것에 가까이 가서 붙게 되다.

   • 이 옷은 면으로 만들어져 피부에 닿는 느낌이 부드러웠다.

     This garment is made of cotton, so it felt soft against the skin.

   • 뜨거운 냄비 끝이 지수에게 닿자 지수는 깜짝 놀라 비명을 질렀다.

     When the edge of the hot pot touched Jisu, she was startled and screamed.

   reach; arrive

   To arrive at a place.

   Korean definition: 어떠한 곳에 이르다.

   • 나는 서울에 닿는 대로 서울에 있는 친구와 친척들에게 연락을 했다.

     As soon as I arrived in Seoul, I contacted my friends and relatives there.

   • 배가 항구에 닿자마자 선장은 급히 사람들을 내리고 다시 출항 준비를 하였다.

     As soon as the ship reached the port, the captain hurriedly let people off and prepared to sail again.

   For news, etc., to be delivered.

   Korean definition: 소식 등이 전달되다.

   • 소문은 퍼지고 퍼져 건너 마을에 사는 우리들에게까지 이미 닿아 있었다.

     The rumor spread far and wide and had already reached even us living in the village across the way.

   • 어제 편지를 보냈으니 이틀이나 사흘 뒤에는 동생에게 기별이 닿을 것이다.

     I sent a letter yesterday, so the news will reach my younger sibling in two or three days.

   For something with influence or that has range to reach a place or subject.

   Korean definition: 영향이나 범위가 어떠한 곳이나 대상에 이르다.

   • 내 방은 머리가 천장에 닿을 정도로 천장이 낮았다.

     My room had such a low ceiling that my head touched it.

   • 민준이는 조명이 닿지 않는 어두운 곳에서 몰래 무엇인가를 펼쳐 보고 있었다.

     Minjun was secretly spreading something out and looking at it in a dark place the light didn't reach.
