   Korean definition: 영화나 텔레비전 등에서, 관객이나 시청자가 읽을 수 있도록 제목, 대화, 설명 등을 화면에 나타내는 글자.

   • 극장에서 영화를 봤는데 자막이 잘 보이지 않아서 무슨 내용인지 모르겠다.

     I watched a movie at the theater, but I couldn't see the subtitles well, so I don't know what it was about.

   • 외국 영화가 더빙 없이 그대로 상영될 때는 등장인물의 대사가 우리말로 번역된 자막이 나온다.

     When foreign films are shown as is without dubbing, subtitles appear with the characters' lines translated into Korean.
